Where the Garden Became the Table: Inside JW Marriott Golfshire’s Summer Solstice Garden Soirée with Chef Neeraj

Some dinners are memorable because of what is served. Others linger because of how they make you feel. The Summer Solstice edition of the JW Garden Soirée at JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa managed to achieve both.

Held on the evening of 30th May at Truffle & Co., the resort’s signature dining destination, the exclusive garden-to-table experience brought together a select gathering of gourmands, tastemakers, and culinary enthusiasts for an immersive seven-course journey that celebrated seasonality, sustainability, and the art of thoughtful dining.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of Nandi Hills, the evening unfolded with an understated elegance that has become synonymous with the JW Marriott brand. Soft candlelight illuminated beautifully dressed tables while fresh sprigs of basil, mint, and pomelo harvested from the resort’s own JW Garden subtly perfumed the air. The setting felt less like a restaurant and more like an extension of the garden itself—an atmosphere where every detail reflected the philosophy behind the experience.

At the centre of the evening was Chef Neeraj, whose carefully curated menu showcased the abundance and vibrancy of the summer season. Guests were welcomed with the property’s signature Bread and Butter Candle ritual, setting the tone for a dining experience that was as interactive as it was indulgent. Throughout the evening, Chef Neeraj moved between tables, sharing the inspiration behind each course and offering insight into the ingredients sourced directly from the resort’s gardens.

The menu itself was a masterclass in contemporary cuisine rooted in regional flavours. Highlights included the Summer Scallop Carpaccio paired with mango and kokam sol kadhi, a dish that perfectly balanced freshness with complexity, and the Grilled Cod accompanied by fermented pakha rice, showcasing subtle layers of flavour and texture. The Duck Raviolo with red wine reduction and garden greens emerged as another standout, seamlessly blending European technique with seasonal ingredients.

Equally impressive was the thoughtfully crafted plant-based menu, which mirrored the sophistication and creativity of the non-vegetarian offerings. Dishes such as Avocado Carpaccio, Grilled Eggplant, Ricotta and Artichoke Raviolo, and Charred Cottage Cheese demonstrated that the vegetarian experience was never an alternative but rather an equally compelling expression of the evening’s culinary narrative.

Each course was complemented by carefully selected wine pairings that elevated the flavours without overpowering them. Meanwhile, a live two-piece band performing an elegant repertoire of jazz, soft rock, and contemporary classics provided a gentle soundtrack to the evening, enhancing the ambience while allowing conversations to flow naturally.

The evening concluded on a sweet note with a Mango Tres Leche accompanied by coconut gelato—a dessert that encapsulated the essence of summer with remarkable finesse. Light, vibrant, and nostalgic, it provided the perfect finale to a meal designed around the season’s abundance.

More than a dinner, the Summer Solstice Garden Soirée was a celebration of connection—to nature, to food, and to the stories that emerge when both are brought together with intention. In an age where luxury often leans towards excess, JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa offered something far more meaningful: an experience defined by authenticity, craftsmanship, and a profound sense of place.

If the evening proved anything, it is that the most memorable dining experiences are not merely about what arrives on the plate, but about understanding where it came from—and taking the time to savour the journey.
