Purva Patel, the owner of Pristine Paige Events, is the favorite luxury wedding planner in the country. From curating and designing a wedding or an event to executing larger-than-life events, her forte is seen in the detailing of the décor. She is the pioneer of the natural and fresh floral décor in Gujarat, and it was only after she executed a wedding back in 2012 that it became a fad to follow. Purva Patel enhances the design with her creativity and exposure to travelling to events that define elegance, sophistication, and experience.
In an exclusive tete-a-tete with Farvi Wadhwa, she shares some interesting experiences and insights about her journey.
1) How do you stay organized and prioritize tasks?
Prioritizing tasks is easy, it’s done on the basis of delivery deadlines but achieving deadlines timely is not so easy. That’s why we’ve built a very well grasping team who’s trained in mastering their own tasks. Also, the managers I have in my team help run the ship smoothly.
2) Tell us about a time when you had to deal with a last-minute change when planning an event.
There was one such incident that happened where we did the make-shift in no time to keep up the celebration spirit. We had booked a flight for our guests and due to weather conditions and multiple trials, the flight did not land in time. While making the final attempt, the client kept the trust in us and fortunately, it landed at our desired destination. The event was earlier planned as a lunch but looking at the guests time of arrival, we soon converted it into a high-tea. Thankfully the menu was designed in such a format, and everything just synced and our guests had a great time.
But such challenges are rare, but we always plan everything much in advance to avoid all last-minute hiccups, we are always on our strategy sheets making sure everything is going right. But if any last-minute challenge comes, the team just pulls it up and with the presence of mind and our client’s trust in me, we’ve luckily sailed through. Ad hoc tasks and last-minute winding up are a general practice in this industry, but I have eliminated it in my company forever. Touchwood.
3) What’s your experience with social media?
It’s a total boon for me, it’s been a helping hand to promote and present Pristine Paige to the world to see & absorb. Pristine Paige is a 3-year-old baby which has flourished one of the reasons being the love on social media received. It’s the best way to reach more people and get recognized for your work, although you have to be cautious about plagiarism. But it’s good to let your work out for people to perceive.
4) Where do you see the wedding planning industry and yourself in five years?
I only see the wedding industry progressing to a whole next level in the coming years. The best aspect today is how couples, and families are so well read, aware of what they want and how sorted they are with their demands. The industry players, including Pristine Paige, are inculcating more environment friendly decor and such inspiring themes. With the wedding industry growing, our business will prosper too.
5) How do you keep yourself aware and updated with the latest industry trends?
That’s a good question. I make sure to read relevant news, media coverage and articles of what’s going on and what’s coming. But we keep our clients at the core of the event so naturally trends got to revolve around them. Sometimes you have to go off track and create your own trends or twist the trending theme to curate something unconventional for the clients and make that a trend.
She has been in the industry for over a decade. She has created a niche with 200+ destination and luxury weddings, 50 milestone and destination birthday parties and countless corporate events for top companies in India.
